A diverse and inclusive profession is a more vibrant profession, and one that will better serve the public interest. As a bencher, I will bring 15 years of experience as a litigator in the public and private sectors, in Ontario and in the United States. This experience has made me a practical and results-oriented advocate, who sees issues from a range of perspectives, while balancing broader policy or client objectives. I would be honoured to bring my perspective, experience and commitment to serve as your bencher.

I have worked extensively with Sandra Nishikawa in my capacity as Co-Chair of the Equity and Aboriginal Issues Committee. In her role as the Chair of the Equity Advisory Group, Sandra has been tireless in her efforts to provide a bridge to our equity partners. I am a more effective Co-Chair because of Sandra’s commitment and it is a pleasure working with her. Sandra would make an excellent Bencher.
I am endorsing Sandra Nishikawa for bencher because she is the rare candidate who will bring both a fresh perspective and depth of experience to the role. With her deep understanding of the issues facing our profession, and her sound judgment and perspective from her career as a litigator in both the private and public sector, I am confident that Sandra will make an excellent bencher.
I am thrilled and honoured to support Sandra’s candidacy for Bencher. I had the privilege of working closely with Sandra on the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers board, and also through the Equity Advisory Group. Sandra’s experience, professionalism, and leadership skills will make a significant contribution to the Law Society. Please join me in voting for Sandra Nishikawa on April 30th.
Sandra is dedicated, reliable and tireless. I am confident that she will represent all constituencies fairly as a Bencher and that she will bring a balanced perspective to the position. Hers will be a valuable voice as the Law Society moves forward to address the many challenges facing the profession.
